Problem with Git, [ref: re...]

2 prog2@prog2 ~/project2 (git)-[ref: re...] % git status

No commits yet

Untracked files:
(use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed)

nothing added to commit but untracked files present (use "git add" to track)
prog2@prog2 ~/project2 (git)-[ref: re...] %

Git status gives me that kind of an answer, should I just push? would it be a problem? Also that [ref: re…] part is different and I couldn’t change it somehow.

Thank you.

You won’t be able to.

Somehow (I guess¹ you shut down the VM wrongly – please shut it down the way you usually shut down a computer, i.e. by pressing shut down in the VM “start menu”) your git repo got corrupted. The easiest fix is re-cloning, copying over your changes, and using the VM/git correctly so that this does not happen again.

Hope this solves your problem,

1\) This can also happen if you have your repository in a shared folder or manually mess with the files in the `.git` folder.
