Energy of pixels to be ignored

Hello,
so the implemented function “calculate_energy” is supposed to output a energy “matrix” which has the same size and indices like the image it’s describing. But when calling this function, the additional argument “w” can limit the calculation to columns with index < w.

Now my question is: should the matrix have defined values for a column with index >= w or can we leave them as they are, after declaring the array? So will (eval-)tests check these values? If yes, what’s the expected value?

Greetings
Henry

Hi,

you do not need to worry about the values in the pixles of the energy where x >= w.
But make sure that the pixles in the final image are present and they should be black.

Hope this helps
